Changing the appearance of her breasts was a life-changing decision for Eleanor, who has found the self-esteem and confidence to change careers since her operation and is now happily working in healthcare.

Tuberous breast correction surgery carried out by our expert surgeons has resulted in many firsts for Eleanor. For the first time, she tells us, she “felt comfortable in a bikini and not worrying about everyone staring, buying a bra that fits properly, and not feeling self-conscious in a relationship”.

Eleanor explains: “The way I see myself now is very different. Previously I’d have beaten myself up over every mistake I made, which was making my self-esteem and self-worth worse, whereas now I look at myself and can recognise my worth and want the best for myself with new personal goals.”

Team care and kindness give Eleanor confidence to go ahead

Having put off the procedure for 10 years, Eleanor finally decided to go ahead when she reached rock bottom in self-esteem and confidence. She had never felt comfortable in her clothes or looking at photos of herself, and when she did, she couldn’t stop criticising every aspect of herself that made her unhappy.

Eleanor says: “I felt it was the right time for me to begin the surgery journey, and now I wish I’d talked through my concerns and done it years earlier.”

At her first clinic with Mr Jallali, Eleanor was made to feel at ease: “Nothing was too much or a silly question, which gave me the confidence that I had made the right decision. This became apparent the more appointments and communication I had throughout my time under the care of Mr Jallali and his team. Their compassion, kindness and trust showed that the patient was at the heart of everything.”

Eleanor praises high levels of care for tuberous breast correction

Before Eleanor met Mr Jallali, she’d blamed herself for being the way she was. At her initial appointment, he told her there was a developmental reason for tuberous breasts and showed her photos of other patients who had been through the procedure.

Eleanor’s tuberous breast correction was a two-stage surgery. The first operation at the London Welbeck Hospital was completed as a day patient.

Eleanor says, “The first time was daunting, whereas I knew exactly what to expect the second time. The team at the Welbeck were lovely and again replicated the high levels of care and compassion associated with private practice.

“I never thought two periods of time off work would give me the self-reflection time to think about what I wanted, where I wanted to be, and with newfound confidence, I have changed career into healthcare as I recognised that it was more aligned with what I did previously, but I didn’t have the confidence in myself to pursue the goal I was working towards.”

A journey shared… and life-changing results

Eleanor opted to take Mr Jallali’s offer to film her procedure to share with future patients. She says it was “a huge milestone for me throughout the journey”.

“The uniqueness of it helped me to overcome so many worries, and to be able to look back on this and see how far I’ve come, I’ll be forever grateful as it’s changed my life so much, as well as helped others who may have similar concerns.”

Eleanor says the results have been so life-changing that friends and family have commented on how much her confidence has increased and how she dresses has changed.

She adds: “Post-surgery, my experiences have shaped me into a very different person with a positive outlook on life. It was the hardest decision but certainly the best one I’ve made.”
