Your four step journey

Your four step journey

your consultation

Arranging your free consultation is simple.

When you’re thinking of dermal fillers, your first step is to meet one of our consultant plastic surgeons. To ensure your desired result, we never rush you. Instead, our highly trained cosmetic surgeons take time to tell you about the dermal filler treatment, answer your questions and ease your mind. We aim for you to leave the consultation feeling confident, well informed and looking forward to your treatment.

your surgeon will:

  • Discuss the best options and alternatives to dermal fillers
  • Gauge whether dermal filler treatment is correct for you
  • Explain the dermal filler procedure, recovery, outcome and cost
  • Tell you about dermal filler potential risks and complications.

you can expect:

  • An examination of your face
  • Your questions to be answered, such as aftercare and the recovery process
  • Your surgeon to show you before and after photographs of their work.

getting ready for your dermal filler treatment

Our team send you information and answers any questions you may have.

preparing for your dermal filler treatment

We will give you every opportunity to ask us questions before your treatment.

We advise you about potential interactions with the medications you are taking. Ten days before your dermal fillers, we’ll ask you to stop taking any that increase the risk of bleeding, including aspirin and ibuprofen.

If you have dermal fillers before a big occasion or holiday, we recommend having the procedure two weeks in advance; this way, your bruising will have settled in time.

We have a safety-first approach and only select the best cosmetic surgeons. Our clients come away happy, and we are proud of our five-star results.

dermal filler treatment – what happens?

A dermal fillers treatment includes the following steps:

  • Step 1: Facial assessment
When you arrive for your dermal filler treatment, your plastic surgeon will welcome you into consulting room and evaluate the area to be treated.
  • Step 2: Cleansing and anaesthetising
Your surgeon cleanses the area with an anti-bacterial solution and applies a topical anaesthetic cream to reduce discomfort and numb the skin.
  • Step 3: The injection
Injecting dermal fillers per site takes a few minutes, and the overall treatment usually takes around 15 minutes. Your plastic surgeon injects, evaluates and applies additional filler as needed. While not painless, the injections are usually easily tolerated.
  • Step 4: Instant results
Your surgeon will cleanse your face and neck when they are happy with the results. You’ll be able to see a difference straight away.

  • We give you a 24/7 telephone number to call with further questions

Recovery timeline

There’s no downtime with dermal filler treatment. You can resume most activities immediately, but we recommend avoiding intense physical activity for the first 24-48 hours to minimise swelling and bruising.

You may see some swelling and bruising after your dermal filler treatment. However, any swelling usually fades within two days and bruises within one to two weeks. After lip filler, you may need to massage your lips for four to five days.

“Wow! the result was instant, and the finished look after the swelling went down the next day was beyond expectations.”

We have partnered with Plim to offer tailored finance options that help you pay for your procedure – and we are clear about the costs of treatments at every stage.

Safety is our top priority. Our dermal filler treatments are considered low risk as they are carried out by highly qualified plastic surgeons, using world-renowned dermal filler brands approved by the FDA.

The common side effects of the treatment are bruising, redness, swelling and pain, all of which should go away within two weeks. You can lessen bruising by avoiding aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen, before your treatment.

Complications can occur with any procedure, and for dermal fillers, they include:

  • Unwanted asymmetry, bumps, or overcorrection of lines
  • Skin damage resulting in infection, scarring or a wound
  • Feeling the filler substance under the skin (nodularity)
  • Blindness or other vision issues (extremely rare)
  • Skin discolouration (Tyndall effect)

Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the body and is an essential building block of our skin. Hyaluronic acid attracts water, helping your skin stay hydrated and firm. Roughly half of our body’s hyaluronic acid is in our skin.

As we age, hyaluronic acid levels decline, up to 75 per cent less than in young people.

A synthetic form of hyaluronic acid is used in dermal fillers to plump and enhance the skin. They have been designed to give you a natural-looking and expressive face.

Hyaluronic acid injections have been used cosmetically for wrinkles and other anti-ageing treatments for many years and they’re also FDA-approved.

At The Levant Clinic, we offer the UK’s most trusted dermal fillers, including Juvederm™ and Restylane™, to add volume, smooth, soften, contour and tone your skin, depending on your unique needs. With over 50 million treatments worldwide, they are FDA approved and have an international reputation for safety and results.

On average, dermal fillers last four to six months, depending on the product used and the area treated. After six months, your body naturally breaks down hyaluronic acid fillers, so you’ll need to get touch-ups to maintain your desired look.

You’ll see an immediate difference in the treated areas, and any swelling will settle within 24-48 hours. You will continue to see improvements in the following few weeks as the hyaluronic acid starts to bind moisture and plump the skin.

In the consultation, we encourage you to ask questions, but we understand that there’s often a lot to discuss, so if you forget to ask something, you can contact our dedicated team, who can go back to your surgeon and get the answer for you.

Feel free to ask us:

  • What are your qualifications and experience?
  • Are dermal fillers right for me?
  • What happens during the treatment?
  • Are there any risks with dermal filler treatment?
  • What happens if anything goes wrong?

Dermal fillers are a quick and inexpensive way to treat signs of ageing. However, a consultation before your treatment is essential to ensure the treatment is proper for you.

Dermal filler treatment may be inappropriate if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Experience sensitivity to hyaluronic acid
  • Have autoimmune problems
  • Have an active oral herpes infection
  • Had laser or chemical treatment in the last four weeks

The dermal fillers we use at The Levant Clinic contain hyaluronic acid in gel form. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance.

Dermal filler treatments are generally safe. However, it’s essential to choose qualified and experienced practitioners. We recommend not opting for this treatment from your local hair or beauty salon.

At The Levant Clinic, safety is our top priority, so your anti-wrinkle injections will only ever be administered by a plastic surgeon who:

  • Is on the GMC register for plastic surgery
  • Has been practising for many years
  • Is highly experienced in cosmetic injectables
  • Delivers beautiful results.

If you’re thinking about having dermal treatments, don’t be worried about asking your surgeon what qualifications they possess and the training they have received.
