With an upper blepharoplasty, most patients find it difficult to close their eyes for the first few days. With both upper and lower eyelid surgery, you may experience dry or watery eyes for up to three months after your procedure.
Further complications include bleeding beneath the skin (haematoma), numbness, infection and venous thromboembolism (VTE). Rare complications include drooping of the lower eyelid (ectropion) and vision loss.
